I’m Nicola, a qualified veterinary surgeon with over 17 years of experience. I graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2007 and began my career in Kent, initially working with both large and small animals before focusing solely on small animal care.
In 2016, I founded Weald Home Vets, offering personalised home visits, including routine consultations and gentle, dignified euthanasia. Later, in 2021, I created Cherry Tree Gentle Farewells — an end-of-life service that included the UK’s first homely, purpose-built euthanasia clinic, in partnership with a family-run crematorium.
Over time, I found myself increasingly drawn to supporting pets and their families at the end of life — a moment that deserves peace, time, and compassion. I saw how difficult it could be to say goodbye in a busy clinic, and knew there was a kinder way.
That’s why I created The Final Walk — a dedicated home euthanasia service for dogs and cats in West Cornwall, where every pet can pass peacefully in familiar surroundings, surrounded by love.
Helping families say goodbye with dignity and love is an immense privilege — and at the heart of everything I do.
Outside of work, I enjoy exploring the Cornish coast and walking my two lurchers, Poppy and Rosie, who also keep me busy in the agility ring!
